What are the check-in and check-out times?Check-in is at 3 pm daily. Check-out is at 11 am daily.

How does self-check-in work?Upon arrival, find your name on the list at the main entry room podium for instructions on locating your room. After 6 P.M., use self-check-in. For assistance, ring the front doorbell or call the Innkeeper at 518-576-9860.

What if I need to arrive late?If you are arriving late in the evening, please use the self-check-in and be as quiet as possible for the comfort of the other guests.

How does self-check-out work?Sign-out on the clipboard in the main entryway. If we don't see you, we'll assume you've departed, and we'll charge the remaining balance on your credit card unless otherwise requested.

What are the quiet hours?Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am. Guests are asked to maintain a considerate noise level.

What's the policy for extra guests and bed setups?Additional adult guests (over standard occupancy) are $25 per night, and children under 15 are $20 per night. Advanced bed setup requests are free with 48 hours' notice. Need a different bed setup? Please contact us via phone, email, or fill out our bed setup request form here.

Is Wi-Fi available?Yes, the entire Inn is Wi-Fi connected under the network name TrailsEnd-Guest It's free for all guests.

Do your rooms have air conditioning?Yes! Each room is equipped with a state-of-the-art Mitsubishi inverter which allows for guest-controlled AC during the summer, and heat in the colder months.

Can you tell me more about the sauna?The Trails End Inn has a 10ft, locally made, wood-fire barrel sauna that can accommodate up to 6 people. This lovely amenity, located at one end of the property near the lean to, is available to reserve for use during your stay. Click below for more info.

How can I use the sauna?To use the sauna, fill out the reservation form, and have everyone using the sauna review the rules and complete a waiver. Please note, we need at least 3 hours of lead time to have it ready for you, so please plan ahead. It costs $30/h (+ tax) to reserve and will be added to the room balance of the individual reserving the sauna. For more information and to book the sauna click below.

Do you have any rooms with fireplaces?We do! We have three rooms with wood-burning fireplaces and some rooms with electric fireplace-style space heaters. If you would like a room with a wood-burning fireplace, please look at our Esther, Gothics, and Skylight rooms.

How can I ensure a smooth experience with the fireplace?Some fireplaces can be finicky to start and may produce unwanted smoke if not operated correctly. Reach out to the Innkeeper ahead of time if you plan to use a fireplace. They can provide you with the necessary knowledge and supplies for a successful fire.

When is breakfast available?Breakfast is available from 6:30am to 10:30am, 7 days a week.

What breakfast is available at the Inn?We offer a complimentary daily continental breakfast, including a rotating selection of freshly baked pastries, bread and bagels, spreads and jams, fruit, granola, oatmeal with an array of toppings, coffee, and hot water. Whole and vegan milk as well as hard boiled eggs and yogurt will also be available for your convenience. Guests can also use the guest kitchenette, which includes a refrigerator/freezer, a Keurig coffee maker, a toaster oven, a microwave, an electric kettle, and the full array of plates, dishes, mugs, bowls, and flatware.

Can I cook during my stay?We have two propane grills for guests to make meals (please inquire with an Innkeeper for access), and a guest kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator/freezer, a toaster oven, a microwave, an electric kettle, a Keurig coffee maker, and the full array of plates, dishes, mugs, bowls, and flatware. Unfortunately, we do not have a full kitchen available for guest use.

Do you offer catering for large groups?Yes, contact us for information on requesting catered meals.

Where else can I eat on-site?In addition to seating in our coffee room, dining room, and porch, you can also find picnic tables behind the inn.

Are dogs allowed at the Inn?Yes, pets are allowed in certain rooms for a fee of $20 per night per dog. Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs to hangout in the main Inn common areas or be off leash on property. Please see our full dog policy here: Dog Policy.

Are children allowed at the inn?Heck yea! We welcome families with children of all ages. Between the 3 families of owners we have a 7 of our own children running around. They love to play with visitors in our game room or library. Please note, the Inn’s quiet hours remain 10pm - 7am. To protect the sleep of our hardcore hikers and late risers, please plan quiet activities to engage and entertain your children during the wee hours of the morning. Please note your young children should be actively monitored at all times while on property.

Even infants?If you are planning to travel with an infant, please let us know. We can recommend rooms that provide the most possible separation from other guests. Some of our walls are thin and we recognize you might need a quieter space. Additionally, please have a plan to make sure all of our guests get a good night's sleep!

What amenities and activities do you have for children?We have a selection of board games, children’s toys, movies and DVDs, books, and art supplies in our library and game room. Additionally, we are adjacent to the Keene Central School Property. The school has an amazing playground, sports fields, an outdoor classroom that looks like the most amazing stick fort you’ve seen, and a beaver pond! Again, young children should be actively monitored at all times.

What hiking trails are accessible from the Inn?The trail to Roostercomb, Snow, Upper and Lower Wolf’s Jaw is less than a quarter of a mile from the Inn, you can walk to it; no need to drive. From the Wolf Jaws you can access the entire Great Range of the Adirondack Mountains. We're about a mile (as the crow flies) from The Garden Parking Area and it's an epic two mile uphill jog if you follow the road. We're also walking distance to the Ranney Trail to Spread Eagle, Hopkins, and Giant Mountain.

What's your smoking policy?Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in and around all Inn buildings. Designated fire pits are provided for smoking.

Any additional tips to maximize my stay?Plan for early closures in the town, unpredictable weather, and wilderness conditions in the Adirondacks.
