Cascade is located about 5 miles north of Trail's End Inn in the town of Keene. It is 3/4 mile off Route 73 overlooking the Ausable River.

It is a separate, detached fully equipped two-bedroom cottage. While there is no daily maid service, we do provide all linens, towels, and kitchen utensils.

Because it is both secluded and fully furnished, it is popular choice for honeymooners, families and others who would like more than just a hotel room but don't want to deal with the difficulties of week-to-week vacation rentals.

The living room has a wood-burning fireplace (wood is provided), convertible sofa, table and chairs, and a love seat in front of the window. There are several built in bookcases brimming with books.

There is a nice front porch with chairs where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of the river.

The downstairs bedroom has a king-sized bed. We can substitute two twins, if need be. The window you see here looks out on the waterfall. The bathroom has an oversized shower. Both the master bedroom and the upstairs bedroom have a cable TV and VCR (we have a nice collection of movies to borrow).

Upstairs is a bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower. There is a king-sized bed (or two twins) plus an additional twin.

In the other half of the upstairs is a futon sofa and more bookshelves. There is room upstairs for two couples and a single, and between the king-sized bed and the sleeper sofa, another two couples could sleep downstairs.

There is a full kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, coffee-maker and all dishes and cooking utensils.

The front porch faces the Ausable River. The stretch in front of the cottage is shallow with rapids and a favorite with trout fishermen. About 200 yards upstream is a fine swimming hole. About 500 yards downstream is a small gorge with nice waterfalls and cascading water.

The cottage is on a dead-end road, so there is infrequent traffic. Many local people like to walk the road since it offers nice views and sounds of the river.
